Having been on the drug before for approximately 6 months, but had to go off of it due to digestive/stomach issues as well as high-blood pressure / hypertension. Oh yeah, and I'm still trying to resolve this one as of today…serious skin issues/challenges!

Pros

Once Daily. Oral medication. Clinical studies have shown improvements in the reduction of exacerbations (percentages did vary). Annualized relapse rate.

Cons

Constant Monitoring and check-ups to ensure proper blood levels due to the reduction in white blood cell counts which may cause you to have more infections; numbness or tingling in your hands or feet that is different from your MS symptoms; serious skin problems; breathing problems (new or worsening); and high blood pressure.

Headaches, Diarrhea, Nausea, Hair thinning or loss and abnormal Liver test results (problems). Hypertension increases. Peripheral Neuropathy.

DO NOT use during pregnancy or breast feeding as the studies are not conclusive one way or the other!
